About this position
Overview
Spaghett is seeking a dynamic, hospitality-driven Lead Server & Sommelier to elevate our dining and beverage experience. This dual role requires a passion for highly-seasonal, local cuisine, extensive cocktail and wine knowledge, and natural leadership. You will guide guests through our curated beverage program while mentoring the service team to maintain flawless floor standards.
Key Responsibilities
Beverage Service
- Guide guests through beverage options, cocktails, and wine pairings.
- Manage wine inventory, collaborating with the Beverage and Bar Director on storage, cellaring, and menu updates.
- Maximize beverage sales by educating staff and connecting with the guest.
- Maintain proper service temperatures and glassware standards.
Service Leadership
- Lead floor service by managing the dining room and service team.
- Set the standard for warm, attentive, and efficient hospitality.
- Train service staff on pairing knowledge, pairing techniques, and steps of service.
- Resolve guest complaints swiftly and professionally to ensure repeat visits.
Daily Operations
- Conduct pre-shift meetings to review any wine changes
- Oversee opening and closing side-work checklists for the service team.
- Collaborate with the kitchen to deeply understand flavor profiles and ingredients.
- Ensure compliance with North Carolina ABC laws and food safety regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Certification: Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS) or WSET certifications preferred.
- Experience: 2+ years of fine dining serving experience; leadership experience a plus.
- Knowledge: Deep expertise in Italian wine regions, varietals, and production styles.
- Availability: Flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
