Service Technician – Lighting & Electrical
Ducros Electrical Contracting & Design, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Service Technician skilled in troubleshooting, diagnostics, lighting systems, and customer service. This is a service role, not just installation — you'll independently troubleshooting problems, explain solutions to customers, and complete repairs safely and professionally.
What You'll Do
- Troubleshoot and repair commercial/residential electrical systems, tracing problems from symptom to root cause
- Service lighting systems, controls, photocells, sensors, timers, contactors, relays, and dimming/computerized controls
- Troubleshoot circuits, breakers, disconnects, and transformers
- Perform voltage, amperage, continuity, and resistance testing with proper diagnostic equipment
- Install, repair, and maintain commercial, residential, parking lot, and exterior lighting
- Document work performed, materials used, and recommended repairs
- Communicate clearly with customers, explaining issues and options in plain language
- Handle scheduled and emergency service calls via dispatch
- Work safely from ladders, scaffolding, rooftops, and bucket trucks up to 50 ft
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of hands-on electrical service experience (requirement)
- Proven troubleshooting experience on commercial electrical systems
- Solid grasp of electrical theory applied to real-world diagnostics
- Experience with lighting controls, relays, contactors, transformers, and control circuits
- Strong communication and customer-service skills — calm, professional, honest
- Valid CA driver's license with good record
- CSLT Certification a plus
