Job DescriptionUpper Restoration, Inc. is seeking an experienced Demolition Estimator to estimate and secure commercial, industrial, high-rise, and private and public-sector demolition projects throughout New York City and Long Island.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in demolition estimating, established relationships with property owners, developers, and general contractors, and the ability to identify new bidding opportunities and help grow our demolition division.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed estimates for high-rise, structural, interior, commercial, and industrial demolition projects.
- Estimate both private-sector and public-sector demolition projects.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate, competitive estimates.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and calculate labor, equipment, trucking, disposal, and subcontractor costs.
- Leverage existing relationships with owners, developers, and general contractors to generate new business opportunities.
- Develop new client relationships and expand the company's bidding opportunities.
- Attend site walkthroughs, pre-bid meetings, and client meetings.
- Prepare proposals, budgets, and change order estimates.
- Coordinate with project managers and operations teams to ensure project profitability.
- Minimum 5–10 years of demolition estimating experience preferred.
- Strong experience in high-rise, commercial, industrial, structural, and interior demolition.
- Established relationships with NYC and Long Island general contractors, property owners, and developers strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to develop new business and secure demolition contracts.
- Experience estimating both private and public-sector demolition projects.
- Strong understanding of demolition means and methods, labor productivity, equipment, trucking, and disposal costs.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and estimating software.
- Experience with asbestos abatement and environmental remediation is a plus.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
