Your New Role
Work as a Welder/Fitter in Salem, Oregon, fabricating structural steel components for utility and telecom projects
Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and engineering specifications
Fit, cut, and weld structural steel components according to project specifications
Perform GMAW spray transfer welding and FCAW welding applications
Use plasma cutting and oxy/fuel cutting equipment
Lay out and fabricate fixtures and specialized steel components
Inspect completed welds and fabricated components for quality and conformance with applicable AWS standards
Use measuring, layout, welding, and fabrication tools accurately
Assist with equipment maintenance and general shop operations
Keep your work area safe and organized
Work on your feet for extended periods in an active industrial fabrication environment
Lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds

High school diploma or GED preferred
At least 3 years of welding and steel fabrication experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Proficiency in GMAW spray transfer welding
Experience with FCAW welding applications
Knowledge of structural steel layout, fitting, and fabrication methods
Familiarity with AWS D1.1 Visual Acceptance Criteria
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and engineering specifications
Experience using layout tools, measuring devices, welding equipment, and fabrication equipment
Math skills necessary for measurements, layout, and basic geometry
Ability to communicate effectively and stay organized while completing assigned fabrication work
Ability to perform welding and fabrication duties in shop conditions that may include heat, noise, and confined work areas
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods
Willingness to complete a written skills assessment and hands-on welding test
