Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Welder to join a growing fabrication team in Chandler, AZ. In this role, you will lead by example while directing shop labor and tasks and collaborate closely with the Plant Manager and Shop Foreman to ensure quality, efficiency, and production goals are met.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret structural steel drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols
- Perform layout, fit-up, and assembly of structural steel components
- Complete FCAW, SMAW, and GMAW welding to AWS standards
- Verify dimensions, alignment, and weld quality before production
- Operate fabrication equipment and cutting tools safely
- Lead small crews and assist the Shop Foreman with daily task coordination
- Train and mentor Class B and Class C fitters/welders
- Set the standard for workmanship, productivity, and safety
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures including PPE requirements to perform the job safely
Requirements:
- 5+ years of structural steel fitting and welding experience
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and weld symbols
- Previous 3G Unlimited Thickness certification preferred
- Experience with AWS D1.1 standards
- Ability to pass a 3G AWS weld test using 1/16" dual shield flux core with straight CO2
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision
Schedule:
- 10-Hour Shifts | Monday – Friday
- Saturdays if needed
Compensation:
- $27.00 - $34.00 per hour, based on experience
