Construction Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee day-to-day construction operations for commercial and residential projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on construction experience, and the ability to manage subcontractors, project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and job-site safety.
This role requires someone who can coordinate field operations, resolve construction challenges, communicate with clients and design teams, and ensure projects are completed on time and according to specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily construction activities from project initiation through completion.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trade workers, vendors, and other construction personnel.
- Monitor project schedules, milestones, budgets, labor, materials, and resource allocation.
- Track project costs and identify potential delays, cost overruns, and operational issues.
- Ensure construction work meets quality standards, project specifications, and applicable building codes.
- Conduct regular job-site inspections to monitor progress, workmanship, and safety compliance.
- Enforce job-site safety procedures and applicable construction regulations.
- Review construction plans, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with architects, designers, engineers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Identify and resolve construction issues that may affect timelines, costs, or quality.
- Maintain accurate project records, progress reports, schedules, and other documentation.
- Communicate project updates, challenges, and progress to company leadership and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure materials, equipment, and labor are available when needed.
- Support the successful delivery of commercial and residential construction, renovation, remodeling, and design-build projects.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience managing commercial and/or residential construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, building practices, and applicable codes.
- Experience supervising subcontractors, coordinating trades, and managing on-site construction activities.
- Knowledge of construction budgeting, cost estimation, scheduling, and resource management.
- Experience monitoring project progress, quality, and safety compliance.
- Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
- Proficiency with construction project management software and standard office applications.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with project teams.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a design-build construction environment.
- Experience with commercial renovations, residential remodeling, additions, or new construction.
- Familiarity with construction projects in New York City or similar urban environments.
- Knowledge of local building codes, permitting requirements, and construction regulations.
- Relevant construction-related education or equivalent practical experience.
- Applicable construction licenses or certifications.
