About the Company

Our client is a manufacturer in Manchester, Iowa with multiple Production Supervisor openings across 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts. Local or Iowa-based candidates only; relocation is not offered.

The Role

The Production Supervisor is part of the manufacturing team, supporting the Director of Operations and the Production Manager. You will supervise staff, organize and monitor workflow, and act as quality inspector, safety coordinator, material handler and trainer for your area. About half of your time is spent in direct labor in the area you run.

What You Will Do

  • Complete the production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, setting priorities, monitoring schedules, resolving problems and reporting results on shift production summaries.
  • Communicate job expectations, and plan, monitor and appraise results; coach, counsel and discipline employees; enforce systems, policies and procedures.
  • Help select, orient and train employees and develop their growth opportunities.
  • Maintain workflow by monitoring each step of the process, control points, equipment, personnel and resources, and by correcting malfunctions.
  • Act as quality inspector for your area and enforce quality standards.
  • Make sure direct and indirect materials are available for production team members.
  • Identify and anticipate safety and health concerns and hazards.
  • Compile and analyze production performance records and data.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and get results through others
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at a functional level
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality and to safety
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft products
