Job Description
Advantage Healthcare is looking for a motivated, organized, and personable Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our multidisciplinary physical medicine team. We work collaboratively with a Nurse Practitioner, Chiropractors, and a Physical Therapist to provide comprehensive patient care.
We welcome new graduates who are eager to learn, work as part of a team, and build their skills in a supportive clinical environment.
Role & Responsibilities
You will work directly under the supervision and direction of our Physical Therapist, assisting with prescribed physical therapy programs and helping patients perform their exercises correctly and safely.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting patients with prescribed therapeutic exercise programs and demonstrating proper exercise techniques.
- Ensuring patients understand and follow the instructions provided by the Physical Therapist.
- Assisting with patient re-examinations and Plans of Care (POCs) as directed and within your scope of practice.
- Maintaining accurate, timely clinical documentation and completing notes as required.
- Monitoring patient progress and communicating relevant observations to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Helping ensure patients receive their authorized and scheduled visits in a timely manner.
- Working alongside our PT aides to coordinate patient flow and maintain an organized treatment environment.
- Following all clinic policies, procedures, and documentation requirements.

The ideal candidate will be:
- Licensed: Holds an active South Carolina Physical Therapist Assistant license. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Personable: Enjoys interacting with patients, communicating comfortably with people from different backgrounds, and building positive relationships.
- Organized: Can manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining accurate and timely documentation.
- Punctual and dependable: Understands the importance of being on time and keeping the clinic running efficiently.
- A team player: Communicates effectively with the Physical Therapist, providers, PT aides, and other staff.
- A quick learner: Willing to learn and consistently follow our established policies and procedures.
- Adaptable: Comfortable working in a group treatment setting and managing multiple patients and tasks throughout the day.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask are essential for this position.
Training
Training on our clinic's policies, procedures, documentation standards, and daily workflow is required. Our systems are straightforward, and initial training is generally expected to take only a few days, depending on the individual's experience and learning pace.
We are looking for someone who is willing to learn our processes, ask questions when needed, and consistently follow established protocols.
Work Schedule
Monday: 8:00 AM–1:00 PM and 2:30 PM–6:00 PM
Tuesday: 9:00 AM–1:00 PM and 2:30 PM–6:00 PM
Wednesday: 8:00 AM–1:00 PM and 2:30 PM–6:00 PM
Thursday: 9:00 AM–1:00 PM and 2:30 PM–6:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM–1:00 PM
- No weekends
- No on-call responsibilities

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active South Carolina Physical Therapist Assistant license — required.
- New graduates are welcome to apply.
- Previous PTA experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to commute to Goose Creek, SC 29445 and to Summerville, SC 29486.
