Job Description

The Traveling Event and Warehouse Technician plays a vital role in supporting American Kennel Club (AKC) dog shows throughout the United States. This dynamic position balances hands-on event setup and teardown with essential warehouse maintenance, ensuring event equipment is well-prepared and organized. Ideal for someone who enjoys traveling up to 50% of the time and working as part of a dedicated team, this role is based in Oklahoma City, OK, and involves collaboration with both the Event Manager and Warehouse Supervisor to deliver seamless event experiences.

 

Responsibilities

  • Travel nationwide to support AKC dog show event setups and teardowns approximately 2 weeks per month
  • Unload, assemble, and position equipment including rings, gating, tables, signage, and flooring
  • Follow detailed site layouts to ensure accurate and efficient event setup
  • Assist with onsite event needs and post-event equipment inventory
  • Tear down and load equipment for transport after each event
  • Maintain, repair, clean, and organize event equipment in the warehouse for approximately 2 weeks each month
  • Prepare and pack equipment for upcoming shows
  • Load and unload trucks and trailers, supporting general warehouse operations and improvements
  • Collaborate effectively within a medium-sized team (6-10 members) to ensure smooth event execution

 

Required Qualifications

  • Willingness and ability to travel across the U.S. up to 50% of the time (approximately 14 days per month)
  • Capable of lifting 50+ lbs and performing physically demanding outdoor work
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus but not required
  • Experience in event setup, warehouse work, construction, or logistics preferred
  • Strong teamwork skills, reliability, and a positive attitude
