Our client, an established consumer goods company, is looking for an Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations and keep financial records accurate, complete, and well controlled. You will manage a team of staff accountants, work closely with leaders across the business, and report to a senior member of the corporate accounting team.

About the Role

The Accounting Manager will lead day-to-day accounting operations, manage a team of staff accountants, and ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and well controlled while partnering with leaders across the business and reporting to a senior member of the corporate accounting team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the month-end close, including review of reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting documentation
  • Own inventory accounting, including periodic adjustments
  • Manage accounting for prepaid expenses, leases, other assets, payroll-related costs, operating expenses, other income and expense, and fixed assets
  • Review new customer and vendor setups and pricing in the companys ERP system
  • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements, including cash flow and equity
  • Analyze period-over-period variances and explain key business drivers
  • Respond to inquiries from accounting teams across the organization and support special projects for finance leadership
  • Help coordinate internal and external audits
  • Identify process improvements, recommend changes to management, and see them through

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in accounting
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience
  • Consumer goods or related industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting
  • SAP proficiency and advanced Excel skills
