So...we’re looking for a Café & Floor Manager to help lead Emissary Coconut Grove, our neighborhood all-day café and wine bar built around carefully sourced coffee and matcha, premium ingredients, a curated natural wine program, and authentic hospitality.  We are a not a slow, lean on the counter, make drinks every 10 minutes in a paper cup type coffeeshop.  We are a bustling cafe, we care about service, so if you're inclined to just chill and lean on things, please apply elsewhere, sorry! 

Emissary is a small, hands-on operation with an experienced team, a beautiful light-filled space, a Counter Culture coffee program, and a community of regulars we genuinely love seeing every day.

This is a working manager position. You’ll be on the floor alongside the team, setting the tone for service and making sure the café feels warm, organized, clean, and effortless (even when it isn’t).

You’ll help:

• Lead and support the FOH team during daily service

• Coach staff and maintain strong hospitality standards

• Keep the floor, counter, bar, and guest experience running smoothly

• Maintain obsessive standards for cleanliness and organization

• Handle opening/closing and day-to-day operational details

• Communicate clearly with ownership, kitchen, and café teams

• Help build a positive, professional, low-drama culture

You’re warm, confident, organized, and comfortable taking ownership.

You notice the small things. You like developing people. You can solve a problem without making it a production. And you understand that great hospitality is equal parts people, product, consistency, and attention to detail.

Restaurant or café management experience is strongly preferred. A genuine interest in specialty coffee, wine, food, and neighborhood hospitality is even better.
