Position: Industrial Hygienist / Process Safety Engineer
Type: Contract
Compensation: $65–$75/hour
Location: Remote
Role Responsibilities
- Write challenging single-turn prompts in chemistry and chemical safety. Label them as benign, dual-use, or adversarial.
- Evaluate AI model responses against a defined policy standard. Judge correctness of handling.
- Write reference answers with technical reasoning for correct responses.
- Assess dual-use scenarios. Ensure models refuse dangerous questions while answering legitimate ones.
- Collaborate with AI research teams to improve model judgment on misuse potential.
- Work independently and asynchronously. Maintain flexible hours.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Certified industrial hygienist with experience in exposure assessment, sampling strategy, and control banding.
- Experience in process hazard analysis, including HAZOP, LOPA, and management of change.
- Expertise in toxic release and dispersion modeling, with knowledge of AEGL/ERPG criteria.
- Experience in ventilation, containment, and PPE program design for chemical hazards.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance such as PSM, Seveso, COMAH, or OSHA.
Preferred
- Prior technical writing, published research, or expert witness experience. Include a sample or link.
