Job Description:

\n
• Conducts comprehensive assessments to include risk assessment and establishes therapy treatment objectives.
\n
• Administers individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
\n
• Evaluates patient data; develops and implements treatment plans.
\n
• Documents therapy observations and maintains records, adhering to confidentiality protocols.
\n
• Evaluates patient progress and therapy intervention effectiveness.
\n
• Provides referrals for patients within the agency and community.
\n
• Works directly with patients, family members, physicians, and community providers to ensure collaborative and continuous care.
\n
• Identifies and intervenes for suspected abuse, including sensitivity to age-specific concerns.
\n
• Demonstrates working knowledge of the involuntary commitment process.
\n
• Participates in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, providing clinical input.
\n
• Formulates discharge plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team, the patient, and the family, ensuring outpatient appointments are scheduled upon inpatient discharge.
\n
• Performs other duties as assigned.
\n

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

\n
• Demonstrate specialized knowledge and skills for effective clinical interventions with individuals, families, couples and groups. (Required)
\n
• Knowledgeable in developing appropriate discharge plans that provide continuity of care based on the individual patient’s needs in collaboration with multidisciplinary team. (Required)
\n
• Knowledgeable about community services and the ability to make appropriate referrals as needed. (Required)
\n
• Knowledgeable about adequate safeguards for the private nature of the treatment relationship. (Required)
\n
• Ability to provide culturally competent service delivery in accordance with the NASW Standards for Cultural competencies in Social Work Practice. (Required)
\n
• Requires knowledge of the principles, laws, and practices of social work in a psychiatric hospital setting. (Required)
\n
• Advanced clinical practice skills. (Preferred)
\n

Education:

\n
• Master's (Required)
\n

Field of Study:

\n
• in social work, counseling, psychology or a related field
\n

Work Experience:

\n
• 2+ years of experience as a clinical social worker in a psychiatric hospital setting (Preferred)
\n
• Experience should include individual, group, and family therapy and discharge planning in an acute care psychiatric setting (Preferred)
\n
• Post graduate experience in a psychiatric hospital setting (Preferred)
\n

Licenses and Certifications:

\n
• Clinical Social Worker License (LCSW) (Required) OR Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) (Required)
\n
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) (Required)
\n
