Commercial Construction Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to lead estimating and preconstruction efforts for a variety of commercial projects, including restaurant installations. Working closely with company ownership, the Real Estate Development division, and internal project teams, you’ll help secure new business and support successful project delivery.

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of estimates and bids from initial project review through submission. Your construction knowledge, judgment, and attention to detail will help clients make informed decisions and keep projects competitive and profitable.

What You’ll Do

• Review and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and project scope.
• Prepare detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, and competitive bids for commercial construction projects.
• Develop pricing for labor, materials, equipment, subcontracted work, and other project requirements.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes.
• Manage the estimating and bidding process from initial project review through final proposal submission.
• Support conceptual estimating, preconstruction, constructability reviews, and design-build efforts.
• Identify project risks, scheduling concerns, scope gaps, and cost factors.
• Monitor material pricing and market conditions to help maintain accurate, competitive bids.
• Work with clients, architects, engineers, design partners, vendors, and subcontractors to clarify project details.
• Participate in client meetings and provide practical construction input and recommendations.
• Collaborate with ownership, the Real Estate Development division, Project Managers, Operations, and other internal teams.
• Track project costs, pricing trends, bids, and contracts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 5 years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Experience managing estimates and bids through the full bidding process.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, construction plans, and specifications.
• Knowledge of construction materials, labor costs, project requirements, and subcontractor pricing.
• Experience with quantity takeoffs and vendor and subcontractor quotes.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple bids at once.
• Excellent analytical, communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Commercial construction experience in concrete, sitework, masonry, steel, or other self-perform trades is a plus.
• Restaurant construction experience is a plus.
• Design-build, preconstruction, or constructability review experience is preferred.
• CAD experience is a plus.
• A technical degree is preferred.
