Underground Electrical Supervisor - Goldstrike Operations

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Electrical Systems Leadership

    • Lead surface/underground electrical operations including installation, maintenance, and repair of:
      ∙ High-voltage distribution systems
      ∙ Industrial control panels
      ∙ Mine-specific electrical infrastructure

    • Ensure 24/7 equipment reliability through preventive maintenance programs

  2. Team & Contractor Management

    • Directly supervise 15+ electrical technicians across 3 shifts

    • Coordinate contractor activities for specialized projects ($1M+ capex initiatives)

    • Implement MSHA-compliant safety protocols across all work areas

  3. Operational Excellence

    • Conduct monthly arc flash risk assessments

    • Maintain NFPA 70E compliance documentation

    • Optimize maintenance workflows using CMMS (SAP)

  4. Technical Oversight

    • Troubleshoot complex electrical faults (PLC-controlled systems)

    • Review engineering drawings for infrastructure upgrades

    • Manage $2M+ annual spare parts inventory

  5. Continuous Improvement

    • Lead RCA investigations for critical equipment failures

    • Implement energy efficiency initiatives (10% YOY reduction target)

    • Develop cross-training programs for multi-skilled workforce



(Mining Industry Standards Compliance)

1. Safety & Compliance Credentials
Mandatory:

MSHA Part 48 certification with 5+ years perfect safety record

Physical capacity for underground work (NFPA 70E compliant PPE usage)

Valid Nevada state electrical supervisor license

2. Operational Experience
Required:

8+ years maintaining underground systems:
∙ 1kV+ distribution networks
∙ Diesel-electric haulage systems
∙ Refuge station backups

2+ full mine lifecycle project completions

3. Leadership Competencies
Preferred:

5 years managing teams of 10+ in 24/7 operations

Contractor management experience ($500k+ projects)

SAP PM/EAM system implementation background

4. Technical Proficiency
Required:

Advanced troubleshooting of:
∙ Allen-Bradley PLC systems
∙ Fiber optic mine communication networks

ArcGIS mapping for infrastructure planning

5. Specialized Knowledge
Preferred:

Expertise in:
∙ Joy Global continuous miners (14CM series)
▪ Atlas Copco ventilation solutions
∙ Paste fill pumping systems

Battery electric vehicle (BEV) infrastructure

6. Documentation Standards
Required:

NEC Article 110 compliance reporting

Lockout-tagout (LOTO) program administration

Preventive maintenance scheduling (ISO 55000)
