Helix Resources is currently recruiting 2nd Class Marine Electricians for a major shipyard project in Houma, Louisiana.

We are looking for candidates with legitimate hands-on marine/vessel electrical experience who are familiar with shipyard electrical installation and termination work.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow vessel electrical prints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Pull and route marine electrical cable
  • Identify circuits and cable numbers from prints
  • Wire and terminate switches
  • Wire lighting circuits
  • Wire 3-way switching circuits
  • Wire and terminate receptacles
  • Assist with equipment and electrical panel terminations
  • Work with basic AC and DC vessel electrical systems
  • Use a multimeter to verify voltage and continuity
  • Properly identify conductors before termination
  • Perform neat, organized, marine-quality electrical terminations
  • Troubleshoot basic electrical problems from a print
  • Follow shipyard safety and quality requirements

Requirements

  • Marine/vessel electrical experience required
  • Shipyard electrical experience preferred
  • Ability to read and understand electrical prints and wiring diagrams
  • Experience pulling and routing marine cable
  • Experience wiring lighting, receptacles, switches, and 3-way circuits
  • Experience with equipment and panel terminations
  • Basic understanding of AC and DC vessel electrical systems
  • Ability to use a multimeter for basic testing and troubleshooting
  • Ability to properly identify conductors before termination
  • Must be dependable and able to work as part of a shipyard electrical team
