The Electrician Journeyman plays a crucial role in performing electrical installation, maintenance, and repair on commercial and industrial projects. Working primarily within small teams of 1-3 electricians or independently, the Journeyman ensures all work complies with safety standards and electrical codes while accurately interpreting blueprints. This role reports directly to the Project Manager and operates mainly during regular day shifts.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems on commercial and industrial sites
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using hand tools and diagnostic equipment
- Interpret and work from blueprints and electrical codes
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations
- Operate hand tools and electrical equipment safely and efficiently
- Communicate effectively with team members and report progress to the Project Manager
- Manage time to complete tasks within scheduled day shifts
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of electrical work experience
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license
- Valid Driver’s License
- Proficient in electrical wiring and blueprint reading
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and safety compliance
- Skilled in troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Experience operating hand tools
- Effective communication and time management skills
