About this position

Vice President of Sales | Technical B2B Manufacturing

Location: Southern California (Relocation Assistance Available)

Compensation: $250,000–$320,000 base salary + annual bonus + relocation assistance + sign-on consideration for exceptional candidates.

An established, growing manufacturer of highly engineered products is seeking a Vice President of Sales to lead its North American commercial organization through its next stage of growth and evolution.

This mandate extends beyond managing an established sales team. The Vice President of Sales will help define the future commercial model, assess and develop the organization, strengthen leadership capabilities, and build the structure, talent, and operating discipline required to scale.

The successful candidate will combine executive-level strategic thinking with the operational depth and hands-on leadership style necessary to translate that vision into measurable commercial results. This is an opportunity for an accomplished commercial leader who enjoys building organizations, developing people, driving change, and creating sustainable growth within a complex technical B2B environment.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and evolve the North American commercial organization across direct, OEM, and channel sales.
  • Define the commercial strategy and organizational model required to support significant long-term growth.
  • Assess organizational capabilities, develop sales leaders, and make the talent and structural changes necessary to build a high-performing, scalable organization.
  • Translate growth strategy into clear priorities, accountability, operating rhythms, and measurable execution.
  • Drive profitable revenue growth across existing customers, strategic accounts, and new business opportunities.
  • Strengthen forecasting, pipeline management, CRM discipline, and commercial analytics.
  • Build executive-level relationships with key OEMs, customers, distributors, and channel partners.
  • Partner closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams on strategic planning, investment priorities, and organizational development.
  • Lead change effectively while preserving the technical expertise, customer relationships, and strengths of an established organization.
  • Build scalable commercial capabilities that support continued growth.

What We're Looking For

  • Significant commercial leadership experience within technical B2B manufacturing, engineered components, or similarly complex product environments.
  • Demonstrated success transforming and scaling sales organizations, including organizational design, talent assessment, leadership development, and change management.
  • Proven experience leading sales leaders and multi-layered regional, national, or global commercial organizations.
  • Track record of translating commercial strategy into measurable revenue, margin, and organizational performance improvement.
  • Experience selling complex technical products through long-cycle, consultative sales processes involving OEM, engineering, and other technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of both direct and distributor/channel sales models.
  • Executive presence and strategic depth to operate as a trusted commercial partner to senior leadership while remaining close enough to the business to drive execution.
  • Strong command of forecasting, pipeline management, CRM, KPIs, and commercial analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop leaders, elevate organizational capability, and create a culture of accountability and performance.
  • Bachelor's degree required.

Preferred Industry Background

Experience in one or more of the following industries is highly desirable:

  • Industrial Automation
  • Engineered Components
  • Interconnect / Connectivity
  • Aerospace & Defense Technologies
  • Medical / Life Sciences Technologies
  • Other highly engineered B2B manufacturing environments

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • Executive-level mandate to help shape the future of a growing North American business.
  • Significant influence over commercial strategy, organizational design, and leadership development.
  • High visibility and direct partnership with executive leadership.
  • Opportunity to transform and scale an established commercial organization rather than simply inherit and maintain it.
  • Significant runway for growth across technical OEM, strategic account, and channel markets.
  • Opportunity to build the leadership structure, commercial capabilities, and operating discipline required for the company's next stage of growth.
  • Long-term leadership opportunity within an organization investing in its future.
