About Us
Villa Baum is an independent breakfast and lunch restaurant in Long Grove serving a menu that blends European and American favorites. We're building a strong kitchen team and looking for a skilled, motivated cook to be part of it from the start.
The Role
You'll work the line during our breakfast and lunch service, preparing a mix of European and American dishes with consistency, speed, and care. You'll report to the Restaurant Manager and work closely with the kitchen team to keep service running smoothly.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch menu items, both European and American, to our recipes and quality standards
- Set up and stock your station before service and break it down at close
- Keep up with the pace of a busy breakfast and lunch rush while maintaining quality
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards at all times
- Communicate clearly with servers and teammates
- Help with prep, inventory, and receiving deliveries as needed
What You Bring
- Previous line cook experience in a restaurant (breakfast/brunch experience a big plus)
- Comfort cooking across both European and American styles, or the ability to learn new dishes quickly
- Ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Reliable and on time for a 7:30 AM start
- Food handler certification (or willingness to obtain one right away)
Schedule
7:30 AM – 3:30 PM. (Specify days per week and weekend expectations.)
Start date: October 26. Interviews begin next week.
