Boyd Electric is a commercial and industrial electrical contractor based in Rowlett, TX, serving the DFW Metroplex and surrounding areas since 1999 (TECL 34094). We're hiring a licensed Lead Journeyman Electrician with strong new construction and tenant finish-out experience to plan, install, and lead electrical work on commercial and industrial projects.
This is a full-time, W-2 position. You'll run work in the field, direct junior electricians and apprentices, and coordinate with other trades on site to deliver complete, code-compliant systems.
Pay: $35.00-$40.00/hour, depending on experience
Responsibilities
- Plan, lay out, and install electrical systems for new construction and tenant finish-out
- Lead and direct junior electricians and apprentices on the job site
- Read and work from blueprints, schematics, and specifications
- Install and troubleshoot 3-phase systems, contactors, transfer switches, PLCs, ATS, and switchgear
- Run all conduit types (EMT, rigid, etc.)
- Coordinate with other trades (plumbing, HVAC) to ensure systems integrate and function correctly
- Maintain a safe, clean, and productive work area
Qualifications
- Active Texas Journeyman Electrician License
- 8+ years of journeyman-level experience
- Active driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record
- Proven experience with new construction and tenant finish-out in commercial and industrial settings
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Experience with electrical control systems
- Certified to operate aerial and scissor lifts
- OSHA 30 certification (preferred)
