About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to sell work-based learning and workforce development solutions to employers, school districts, and community partners.

Work-based learning connects classroom education with practical workplace experience. Through programs such as youth apprenticeships and structured workplace learning, students gain career skills while employers develop a pipeline of future talent.

This role turns those benefits into new business. You will identify prospects, uncover their needs, present solutions, and close partnership agreements, with a particular focus on expansion across the southeastern United States.

What You’ll Do

  • Sell work-based learning solutions that help employers build talent pipelines and help schools connect students to meaningful career opportunities.
  • Own the full sales cycle, from prospecting and discovery through proposals, negotiations, and signed agreements.
  • Develop new relationships with employers, school districts, educational institutions, and community organizations.
  • Lead consultative conversations to understand hiring challenges, workforce needs, student outcomes, and program goals.
  • Present the value of work-based learning, youth apprenticeships, and related workforce and education services.
  • Tailor proposals to each buyer, connecting program benefits to business priorities or educational objectives.
  • Navigate sales cycles involving multiple decision-makers across industry and education.
  • Collaborate with program and operations teams to ensure proposed solutions can be delivered successfully.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and next steps; track pipeline activity, conversions, and revenue against goals.
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, education meetings, and community events that generate qualified business opportunities.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrated success in B2B sales or business development, including converting prospects into signed agreements.
  • Strong consultative selling skills and the ability to explain the business value of work-based learning.
  • Confidence engaging business executives, HR and workforce leaders, school administrators, and community stakeholders.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles and maintaining momentum across multiple decision-makers.
  • Strong prospecting, presentation, proposal development, and communication skills.
  • A self-directed approach, consistent follow-through, and resilience in pursuing new business.
  • Experience using HubSpot or another enterprise CRM.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%.

Preferred Experience

  • Selling work-based learning, apprenticeship, education, training, or workforce development services.
  • Building partnerships with employers and school districts.
  • Developing business in the southeastern United States.
