Nighttime Closing Kitchen Porter
Osteria Centrale | Grand Central Terminal, New York, NY

Osteria Centrale is seeking a dedicated, reliable Kitchen Porter to join our opening team. This role is essential to keeping our fast-paced kitchen clean, organized, and ready for the next day’s service.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces and equipment, including countertops, walls, stoves, ovens, grills, and sinks.
  • Thoroughly clean the kitchen after closing to prepare for the following day.
  • Keep food storage areas, refrigerators, and freezers clean and organized.
  • Receive deliveries and store items properly.
  • Wash cutlery, glassware, pots, pans, and cutting boards using appropriate cleaning methods and equipment.
  • Check that equipment is functioning properly and promptly report maintenance issues or breakage to management.
  • Complete required training and meet company performance expectations.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and follow procedures for reporting absences or lateness.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience as a Kitchen Porter.
  • Strong teamwork and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and quality.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Familiarity with restaurant operations and kitchen sanitation practices.
