Overview:

Job Title: Transport Network Engineer

Security Clearance: Secret or Higher

Location: Pope Army Airfield, NC

(Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.)

Description:

C3EL is seeking an experienced Transport Network Engineer to support a global transport network supporting U.S. Special Operations Command and mission partners. This role focuses on the design, integration, implementation, and operation of SATCOM, baseband, ground gateway, terrestrial IP/MPLS, SDN, 5G/6G, and ISP interconnect technologies supporting mission-critical communications.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Design, integrate, implement, configure, and troubleshoot mission-critical transport network infrastructure.
  • Support SATCOM, baseband, ground gateway, IP/MPLS, SDN, 5G/6G, and ISP interconnect environments.
  • Configure and optimize routing and transport technologies including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS, and SD-WAN.
  • Develop network configurations, diagrams, runbooks, and test procedures.
  • Support network monitoring, telemetry, automation, encryption/CSfC, and performance optimization.
  • Conduct site surveys, installations, cutovers, integration, testing, and field troubleshooting.
  • Implement and maintain IA, RMF, and STIG requirements within network architecture and device configurations.
  • Troubleshoot network incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and support 24/7 operations.
  • Coordinate with TSOs, NOCs, cybersecurity teams, engineering personnel, and program management to maintain reliable, mission-ready transport capabilities.
  • Support worldwide travel to remote or austere locations as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • An active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance or higher.
  • 11+ years of experience supporting DoD programs.
  • 10+ years of experience implementing IA/RMF/STIG requirements within network architecture and device configuration.
  • Active professional network engineering CE certification (e.g., CCNP Enterprise/JNCIP, SD-WAN).
  • Strong experience with SATCOM, baseband, ground gateways, IP/MPLS, SDN, 5G/6G, and ISP interconnect technologies.
  • Strong working knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS, and network transport technologies.
  • Experience with network security, encryption/CSfC, monitoring, telemetry, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to support 24/7 operations and travel worldwide, including remote or austere locations.

Desired Qualifications:

  • M.S. degree in Computer Engineering, Network Security, or a related technical field.
  • B.S. degree in Computer Information Systems, Network Security, Web Security, or a related technical field.
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification.
