Gjusta Goods & Flower Shop – Floral & Retail Associate
Seasonal
Hourly range: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
Venice, CA

Gjusta Goods & Flower Shop, two doors down from Gjusta Bakery, offers handmade ceramics, local linens, homewares, house-made pantry items, vintage finds, and local flowers. We’re looking for a creative, detail-oriented team member to help with floral production, retail, and hospitality during our busy season.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests, build rapport with regulars, and share the stories behind our products, makers, and farmers
  • Build arrangements and bouquets for walk-ins, pre-orders, holidays, events, and wholesale accounts
  • Process, condition, and care for floral product to maximize freshness and shelf life
  • Assist with weekly floral upkeep across Gjelina Group properties
  • Stock, merchandise, and refresh shop displays
  • Receive, unpack, and log deliveries; support inventory and transfers
  • Fulfill in-store, delivery, and shipping orders promptly
  • Operate POS (Shopify) and handle cash properly; open and close the register
  • Respond to emails and client calls; coordinate with the driver team
  • Keep the shop, workshop, and building perimeter clean and organized
  • Support the Lead Florist/Retail Associate with daily tasks and holiday production

Qualifications

  • Previous retail experience required
  • 1–2 years in floral, nursery, or landscaping preferred
  • Strong communication skills in person, by phone, and by email
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable, accountable, and team-oriented
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a vehicle
