Looking for a hands-on manufacturing role where you can build your mechanical assembly experience? We are hiring a Mechanical Assembly Technician to help assemble overhead electrical switching equipment in a clean, team-oriented production environment.
This is a great opportunity for someone with 6 months to 1 year of mechanical assembly, production, or manufacturing experience who is comfortable using tools and following detailed instructions. Blueprint reading and wiring experience are helpful, but training will be provided.
Location: Franklin, WI
Pay: $21.50/hour
Job Type: Contract
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM
Overtime: Friday overtime may be available as needed
What You’ll Do:
- Assemble mechanical and electrical components for IntelliRupter units and related equipment
- Use hand tools, power tools, air impact tools, torque wrenches, screwdrivers, and measuring tools
- Install, align, and secure components weighing approximately 5–25 lbs.
- Follow work instructions, assembly prints, and quality procedures
- Complete basic inspections and make minor assembly adjustments as needed
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and productive work area
- Use material-handling equipment or overhead cranes after proper training
What We’re Looking For:
- 6 months to 1 year of mechanical assembly, manufacturing, production, or similar hands-on experience
- Comfortable using basic hand and power tools
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow step-by-step instructions and work carefully
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Basic measuring-tool and shop-math skills
- Reliable attendance and ability to work the scheduled hours, including Friday overtime when needed
Preferred, but not required: Experience reading blueprints or assembly prints and basic electrical wiring experience.
Physical Requirements: This role involves standing and walking for extended periods, frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing 5–25 lbs., bending, crouching, reaching, and repetitive use of hands and arms. Heavier items may be moved with equipment or assistance. Occasional work from ladders or lifts may also be required.
