Job Title: Assembly Helper
Department: Manufacturing
Position Summary:
The Assembly Helper provides support to experienced machinists by preparing materials, maintaining equipment and tools, operating basic machinery, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment. This position helps machinists with tasks like measuring, cutting, and finishing components, serving as a starting point for a career in precision machining.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist machinists with setup, operation, and maintenance of machines and tools.
- Load and unload raw materials, parts, and finished products.
- Measure, mark, and prepare materials for machining.
- Monitor machines during operation to ensure proper functioning.
- Perform basic machine adjustments under supervision.
- Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
- Transport materials, tools, and workpieces within the shop.
- Follow safety procedures and wear protective equipment at all times.
- Support machinists by preparing tools, lubricants, and supplies as needed.
- Perform routine inspections on machines and report malfunctions.
- Assist with quality checks on finished products using calipers, micrometers, or gauges.
- Learn and develop machining skills to grow into a machinist role.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in manufacturing a plus
- Capability of lifting up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
