About this position
Job Description
Tax Associate | Dublin, Ohio | Hybrid | CPA Firm
\nYour first few years in public accounting can make a pretty big difference to the rest of your career.
\nNot necessarily because of the clients you're working with or the software you're learning, but because of the people you're learning from.
\nAnd I think that's something that's quite easy to overlook when you're choosing a firm.
\nI'm working with a growing, midmarket CPA firm in Cleveland that's looking for a Tax Associate to join their team.
\nAnd for someone who's fairly early on in their tax career, I think there's a lot to like about this one.
\nFor starters, you'll be surrounded by experienced accountants who actually want to help you get better at what you do.
\nYou'll have plenty of mentorship, opportunities to ask questions (including the ones you think you should probably know the answer to by now) and the chance to get involved in different areas of tax rather than being stuck doing the same thing every day.
\nBecause let's face it, nobody comes out of college knowing everything about tax.
\nYou'll work with a variety of clients, build your technical knowledge and gradually take on more responsibility as your confidence grows.
\nAnd being a midmarket firm, I think you get quite a nice balance.
\nThey're big enough to have the resources, training and opportunities you'd expect from an established CPA firm, but small enough that you'll actually get to know the people you're working with.
\nThere's hybrid working too, so you get the benefit of learning from people in the office without having to be there five days a week.
\nAnd looking a little further ahead, there's plenty of room to grow.
\nWhether that's becoming a Tax Senior, moving into management one day or even working towards Partnership, there's a career path here if that's what you want.
\nBut you don't need to have all of that figured out just yet.
\nIf you have a couple of years in public accounting, this is a really good place to build your career.
\nCPA or EA qualifications are great, but they're not essential. What's more important is that you're keen to learn, willing to get involved and genuinely interested in building a career in tax.
\nIf you'd like to hear a bit more, apply or give me a call on 412 991 2084.
\nI'm Bethan Kirby at Distinct North America. I start at 6am EST, so mornings are absolutely fine.
\nAfter 5pm works too, although I might be slightly less lively by then.
\nAnd remember, applying doesn't mean you're committing to anything. Sometimes a quick conversation is all it takes to realise there's a better opportunity out there.
