About this position

About Us
HED NYC is an intimate fine-dining Thai restaurant in Chelsea, part of EWC Hospitality Group. Our bar is calm and refined, not a high-volume bar. We’re looking for a bartender who takes pride in the details: precise technique, beautiful presentation and warm, knowledgeable conversation with every guest.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare classic and signature cocktails, wine, sake and non-alcoholic drinks to exact recipe and presentation standards
  • Make every drink look perfect: clean glassware, measured pours, fresh garnishes and consistent plating
  • Get to know our menu well enough to recommend drinks and food pairings to guests
  • Welcome and look after bar guests with polished, personal fine-dining service
  • Run the service bar for the dining room quickly and accurately
  • Prepare the bar before service: juices, syrups, infusions, garnishes, ice and glassware
  • Keep the bar spotless and organized at all times, following health and safety standards
  • Help with inventory, par levels, ordering and tracking waste
  • Use slower periods well: deep cleaning, prep, menu study and helping the dining room team
  • Work closely with the servers, kitchen and management as one team

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of bartending experience, ideally in fine dining or upscale restaurants
  • Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits and wine (sake and Asian spirits are a plus)
  • Very detail-oriented: you notice the small things and follow standards every time
  • Calm, professional and friendly, comfortable talking with guests at the bar
  • Organized and reliable, with a strong sense of ownership of the bar
  • Able to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must be 21 or older
  • NY ATAP (alcohol server training) certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire
  • NYC Food Protection or Food Handler certificate is a plus
  • Toast POS experience is a plus

Compensation and Benefits

  • $24.00 per hour plus tips (estimated $500+ per week)
  • Staff meal during shifts
  • Dining discount at EWC Hospitality Group restaurants
  • Room to grow with a growing restaurant group in NYC and San Francisco

If you love making drinks with care and creating memorable moments for guests, we’d love to meet you.
