BENEFIT INFORMATION: Newly hired Processing Associates are eligible to enroll in the USPS Non-Career Health Plan immediately upon hire. There is a 60-day window for enrollment. Functional Purpose Provides support to organization-wide human resources programs at the Human Resources Shared Service Center (HRSSC) facility. Assists in the processing of a variety of personnel actions and provides direct customer service and support for human resources related processing issues. Assigned to one or more of the following areas: personnel actions, compensation and benefits, selection, job bidding, reassignments, staffing and/or complement management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assists in the processing of personnel actions such as reassignments, promotions, pay corrections, reactivations, etc.
Generates notification of personnel action forms (“Form 50”) to notify employees of processed actions and corrections.
2. Provides service and support to customers by answering questions, routing and responding to customer requests,
providing information and instructions, and resolving issues. Documents customer calls, including actions taken, in tracking system case notes.
3. Assists customers with forms, documentation, and corrections. Orders benefits packages, information packets, and otherpaperwork for new hires, career conversions, retirements, etc.
4. Verifies completeness and accuracy of required documentation for processing personnel actions.

3. EXAMINATION REQUIREMENT: Applicant must demonstrate the ability to key data on a computer terminal at a rate of 35
correct lines within five minutes. This must be demonstrated by successful completion of Postal Service Test 714 at the high standard.
4. Ability to demonstrate professionalism, ethical behavior, and confidentiality.
5. Ability to retain, recall, and verify accuracy of information and maintain attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks
and switching between many different types of tasks.
6. Ability to follow standardized instructions, processes, and procedures.
7. Ability to manage time and maintain flexibility.
8. Ability to gather information and recognize when additional information is needed.
9. SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Willingness to work non-standard workhours and shift assignments such as nights, weekends,
and mandatory overtime. Qualified applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening to meet the U.S. Postal Service's requirement to be drug free. Applicants must also be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident alien status.
