About this position

The Spaniard is looking for an experienced Lead Host to join our team!

This is a leadership role at the door. We’re looking for someone who leads from the front, sets the tone for the host team every night, and is ready to commit to four evening shifts a week, Wednesday through Saturday.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Run the host stand on our busiest nights, managing reservations, walk-ins, waitlist and table flow
  • Lead by example: be the first to greet, the first to jump in, and the standard the rest of the team follows
  • Train, support and coach the host team, and help with onboarding new hosts
  • Work closely with managers and the floor team to keep service paced and the room full
  • Handle guest questions, special requests and the occasional tricky situation with warmth and confidence
  • Keep Resy accurate and up to date, including notes, VIPs and regulars
  • Open and close the host stand and keep it organized

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • A welcoming, positive and upbeat attitude is a must!
  • Natural confidence, a strong presence, and the ability to build rapport with guests
  • Minimum 2 years hosting experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant, ideally in NYC
  • Previous lead host or supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Experienced with Resy
  • Highly attentive to detail, with strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Clear, calm communicator, including under pressure
  • Team player with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
  • Must commit to working 4 nights a week, Wednesday through Saturday evenings
  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be comfortable with repetitive motions (such as walking, bending and standing)
