Experienced Rod Busters / Reinforcing Ironworkers – $23–$28/hr

St. Pete Beach, FL | Immediate Start

We are looking for experienced Rod Busters / Reinforcing Ironworkers (Rod Knockers) for a commercial construction project in St. Pete Beach, FL.


Pay: $23–$28/hour, based on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Location: St. Pete Beach, FL


What You'll Be Doing

  • Place, position, and secure reinforcing steel (rebar)
  • Tie rebar using tie wire and proper tying methods
  • Install rebar for footings, foundations, slabs, walls, columns, and beams
  • Maintain proper bar spacing, laps, clearances, and elevations
  • Set chairs, spacers, and supports
  • Cut and bend reinforcing steel as needed
  • Read and follow rebar placement drawings and field layouts
  • Unload, stage, sort, and distribute reinforcing steel
  • Work safely around formwork, concrete crews, equipment, and other trades

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Rod Buster, Rod Knocker, Reinforcing Ironworker, or Rebar Installer
  • Hands-on experience tying and placing rebar
  • Knowledge of common rebar sizes and reinforcing steel terminology
  • Understanding of lap splices, spacing, chairs, supports, and proper bar placement
  • Ability to read rebar drawings/layouts preferred
  • Able to work independently after receiving instructions
  • Physically able to lift, carry, position, bend, and tie reinforcing steel throughout the workday
  • Reliable transportation to St. Pete Beach

Basic Tools

Experienced candidates should have their normal hand tools, including:

  • Rebar/ironworker tying pliers
  • Side cutters
  • Tape measure
  • Chalk or marker
  • Tool belt

Required PPE

  • Type I Hard Hat
  • Cut-Resistant Gloves
  • Safety Glasses
  • High-Visibility Vest
  • Steel-Toe Boots
