Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, in Granite Bay has an immediate opening for a part-time accompanist for our traditional and contemporary worship services.
Join our vibrant faith community as a Church Accompanist, where your musical talents will inspire worship and foster spiritual connection. The Accompanist will provide piano accompaniment with the choir and director for rehearsals, concerts, regular and special worship services. This position will also play keyboards at the contemporary service as needed. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings and Sunday services are at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Duties
- Accompany any church choral groups and rehearsals, as directed.
- Play a scheduled worship services, and special events.
- Substitute on the piano to lead the service for agreed upon dates.
- Play keyboards at contemporary worship service as needed.
- Arrive on time prepared for rehearsals and worship services.
Skills
- Piano/keyboard Proficiency.
- Ability to play hymns, service music and speical music of moderate difficulty.
- Ability to read and perform syncopated rhythms with accuracy.
- Ability to sight read and improvisatory abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Possess good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to take direction from music director.
- Enjoys and ability to play both traditional and contemporary worship music.
Experience/Education
- Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by private or college level training in piano and music theory.
- Two years of experience as an accompanist, preferred.

Compensation:
This is a part-time hourly position, approximately 8-10 hours per week at $35/hr.
