About Us
Pastiamo Osteria is an exciting new Italian restaurant opening in the vibrant Woodley Park neighborhood of Washington, DC.
Our concept combines authentic Italian cuisine, warm hospitality, an energetic atmosphere, and exceptional service.
We are seeking an experienced, charismatic, and hands-on Front of House Manager / Maître d’ to join our opening leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily Front of House operations.
- Lead, train, and motivate the service team.
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences and service standards.
- Manage reservations, seating arrangements, and dining room flow.
- Maintain a strong presence on the restaurant floor.
- Build relationships with guests and develop a loyal neighborhood clientele.
- Handle guest feedback and resolve service concerns professionally.
- Coordinate service operations with the kitchen and bar teams.
- Assist with scheduling, labor management, and operational efficiency.
- Supervise opening and closing procedures.
- Support private dining events and special occasions.
- Maintain a polished, organized, and welcoming restaurant environment.
- Foster a positive, professional, and accountable team culture.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Front of House Manager, Maître d’, or comparable leadership position.
- Previous experience in upscale casual or high-volume full-service restaurants required.
- Italian restaurant experience strongly preferred.
- Proven leadership and staff development skills.
- Excellent guest relations and hospitality skills.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant service standards.
- Experience managing reservations and dining room operations.
- Knowledge of POS and restaurant reservation systems.
- Strong food, wine, and beverage knowledge.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Professional appearance and confident personality.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Full-time availability, including weekends and holidays.
