Key Responsibilities
- Installation: Set up and wire heavy industrial machinery, transformers, switchgear, motors, and control panels.
- Conduit and Wiring: Measure, cut, bend, thread, and install rigid conduit and pull wiring through large-scale industrial structures.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical faults, circuit failures, and electronic control system breakdowns to prevent production downtime.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and tests on electrical components and heavy machinery.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and follow complex electrical schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints.
- Code Compliance: Ensure all work meets strict safety rules and the National Electrical Code (NEC) along with local regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Licensing: Active Journeyman Electrician card or state-issued license.
- Experience: Completed a formal electrician apprenticeship plus 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in an industrial setting.
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of high-voltage systems, industrial controls, and instrumentation.
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift heavy objects (50–80 lbs), climb ladders, and work in tight or elevated spaces.
- Safety Focus: Strict adherence to safety standards like lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE).
