Lead Electrical Mechanic – 10+ Years Experience
Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Lead Electrical Mechanic with 10+ years of commercial electrical experience who can lead by example while remaining hands-on in the field. This is a working lead position, not a supervisory-only role. We need someone who knows their trade, can take ownership of their work, guide other electricians when needed, and keep projects moving without constant direction.
Duties
- Perform hands-on electrical installations on commercial job sites
- Run conduit (EMT, rigid), pull wire, and complete terminations
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings
- Handle electrical layout and installation from start to finish
- Install panels, switchgear, devices, fixtures, and other electrical equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and resolve field issues
- Provide direction and guidance to other electricians while working alongside them
- Coordinate with foremen, project managers, and other trades to keep work progressing
- Maintain quality workmanship, productivity, and job site safety
Qualifications
- 10+ years of commercial electrical experience
- Strong conduit bending, installation, and electrical layout skills
- Ability to read blueprints and execute work independently
- Experience with panels, switchgear, terminations, and troubleshooting
- Previous experience as a Lead Mechanic or senior-level electrician preferred
- Ability to direct a small crew while remaining actively involved in installations
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
