About this position

Location: San Francisco, CA

Work model: On-site, 5 days/week
Employment: Full-time
Experience: 4+ years
Base salary: $180K–$280K + equity + quarterly performance bonuses
Visa: Open to visa transfers (including OPT / H-1B transfers)

About the role

We are looking for a Product Engineer with 4+ years of experience to build and own AI-powered products that directly impact business KPIs.

This is a highly product-oriented engineering role: the engineer will work directly with sales, service, underwriting, and operations teams, identify business problems, turn them into scalable technical solutions, and ship extremely quickly.

The company operates at a very fast pace — prototypes and production features are expected to ship within hours or the same week rather than over long development cycles.

Key responsibilities

  • Own one or multiple business KPIs end-to-end and drive measurable improvements through technology.
  • Work directly with non-technical stakeholders across sales, service, underwriting, and operations.
  • Translate business problems into scalable product and engineering solutions.
  • Design and build AI-powered and agentic systems, including RAG, MCP, AI agents, and automation.
  • Build across the full stack, rather than focusing exclusively on backend or frontend.
  • Prototype, ship, measure, and iterate extremely quickly.
  • Support production systems and participate in on-call responsibilities.

Must-have profile

  • 4+ years of software/product engineering experience.
  • Strong hands-on engineering skills in Python and/or TypeScript.
  • Experience building production AI/LLM applications, ideally including:
    • RAG
    • AI agents / agent frameworks
    • MCP
    • workflow automation
  • Strong product mindset — comfortable owning a business outcome/KPI, not just completing engineering tickets.
  • Experience working directly with business or non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work across the stack and independently take a problem from idea prototype production.
  • Comfortable working in a very high-speed startup environment.
  • Willing to work 5 days per week from the San Francisco office.
  • Comfortable supporting live systems / participating in on-call.

Strong plus

  • Experience with Voice AI.
  • AWS and/or GCP.
  • Experience using AI coding tools such as Cursor and Claude Code as part of the daily development workflow.
  • Startup / early-stage company experience.
  • Experience building internal tools or automation for sales, operations, underwriting, customer service, or other business teams.
  • Insurance / InsurTech experience.

Tech stack

Core: Python, TypeScript
AI: RAG, Agent Frameworks, MCP, Voice AI
Cloud: AWS / GCP
AI development tools: Cursor, Claude Code
