About this position
We are working on behalf of a mission-driven, nonprofit veterinary hospital in Las Vegas, NV that is looking to welcome an Associate Veterinarian to its growing team. What began as an animal rescue has grown into a busy, full-service clinic open seven days a week, supported by a sister preventive care clinic, with one clear purpose: making quality veterinary care accessible so that no pet is turned away.
The caseload is varied and fast-paced, covering spay and neuter, dentals, soft tissue surgery, medicine appointments, walk-ins, and urgent cases such as pyometras and enucleations. The hospital is fully equipped with in-house radiography, ultrasound, and endoscopy, and is built around a heavy support staffing model so doctors can focus on medicine. Financial conversations are handled entirely by support staff and veterinary social workers, who manage costs, grants, and financing options.
The role is fully customizable. You can choose rooms only, surgery only, or a mix, on a full-time schedule of four 10-hour days worked consecutively, with no split shifts and weekends currently negotiable. Part-time and procedure-specific options are also available. You can decline procedures you are not yet comfortable with and build your skills on the job at your own pace.
Doctors with 3+ years of GP experience (ER experience is a big plus) will thrive here, but the team is open to all levels, including new graduates. Production is tracked for sustainability only and is never punitive. This is genuinely meaningful work in a community-first culture, with the added bonus of no Nevada state income tax.
