Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support the research, design, development, and testing of mechanical parts and assemblies for electronic test and measurement equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical design skills, proficiency in SolidWorks, experience with automated positioning devices, and knowledge of drafting standards and machine shop processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, design, develop, and test mechanical parts and assemblies for electronic test and measurement applications.
- Use CAD systems to create new or modify existing 3D models and engineering drawings for production documentation.
- Review and analyze engineering design criteria to ensure proper fit, function, and performance.
- Collaborate with RF and Electrical Engineers to resolve design details and engineering challenges.
- Coordinate with internal and external customers and consultants to meet project requirements.
- Submit engineering models and drawings to vendors to obtain pricing quotes and lead-time estimates.
- Support mechanical design activities involving machine components, assemblies, and sheet metal as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Hands-on mechanical design experience with automated positioning devices.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of engineering drafting standards.
- Working knowledge of machine shop processes and manufacturing methods.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Machine design experience is preferred.
- Industry experience in automotive, aerospace, or heavy equipment is preferred.
- Sheet metal design experience is preferred.
