POSITION SUMMARY:
A welder performs metal to metal welds on various metallurgies using various processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Insure that SAFETY is foremost on all jobs and strive for the best safety record in the industry. Immediately notify the Safety Manager of any safety issues.
Understand applications and alloys (carbon steel, exotic, strip‑lining, clad, etc.), be familiar with the Welding Quality Control Manual, and seek guidance from QA Engineering Manager for project specific welding applications. Also, be familiar with ASME and NBIC code work and utilization of third-party Authorized Inspectors.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have experience in field.
REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Must be able to read all types of drawings.
- Must be able to lay-out new tray support rings, bolting bars and nozzles.
- Must be able to retrofit / modify existing column for new internals.
- Must be able to use an Arc Gouger
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires continuous travel.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
In order to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation, the employee must be able to see, hear, talk, and use hands and fingers to operate various welding equipment.
Must be able to climb various structural ladders and platforms associated with columns, vessels or drums and be willing to enter confined spaces.
