Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our pain management team. The provider will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute and chronic pain conditions in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This role involves both medication management and interventional pain coordination, working collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic pain conditions
  • Perform comprehensive history, physical exams, and treatment planning
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, etc.)
  • Develop and manage individualized pain treatment plans
  • Prescribe medications appropriately, including controlled substances, in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Monitor patients for effectiveness, side effects, and compliance
  • Perform or assist with in-office procedures (trigger point injections, joint injections, etc.) depending on training
  • Coordinate care with interventional pain physicians for procedures (e.g., epidurals, RFAs, nerve blocks)
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Ensure compliance with DEA, Florida Board, and controlled substance guidelines
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, risks, and lifestyle modifications
  • Participate in quality improvement and compliance initiatives

Qualifications

  • Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) in Florida
  • Active DEA license (or ability to obtain)
  • Board certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in pain management or interventional pain settings
  • Familiarity with opioid prescribing guidelines
  • Experience with injections or minor procedures
  • EMR experience (eClinicalWorks, Athena,)

Work Environment

  • Outpatient clinic setting
  • Monday–Friday schedule (no weekends/holidays, if applicable)
  • Collaborative, team-based environment
