Seasonal Shoveler (Winter Snow & Ice Team)

We are hiring Seasonal Shovelers to join our snow & ice team for the 2025-2026 winter season. Shovelers play a critical role in keeping commercial and residential properties safe during and after snow events.
This position is perfect for individuals looking for:

- The opportunity to grow into full-time, year-round roles (Crew Leader, Driver, etc.)
Key Responsibilities
- Shovel snow and apply ice melt to walkways, entrances, sidewalks, and high-traffic areas.
- Arriving promptly to snow events, early mornings, nights, and weekends are typical.
- Work safely and efficiently in winter weather conditions.
- Follow directions from Crew Leaders and Operators during storm events.
- Maintain clear communication via phone/text for dispatch and scheduling.
- Keep equipment organised and report any issues immediately.
- Represent Dohner Ltd. with professionalism while on client properties.
Qualifications
- Previous snow removal experience.
- Ability to operate snow blowers or walk-behind equipment.
- Interest in becoming a full-time landscape or crew team member after the season.
- Reliable transportation to job sites.
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends during snow events.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outside in cold conditions.
- Strong work ethic and dependability (showing up during storms is essential).
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Compensation & Schedule
- Seasonal, W-2 position; hours vary based on snowfall and weather conditions.
- Hourly rate: $20 - $30 based on experience and equipment
- Paid for every hour worked during snow events
- Potential for overtime during heavy storms
- Opportunity to transition into full-time, year-round roles after winter (crew leader, driver, equipment operator, etc.)
