About this position

Minyoli is a family friendly neighborhood restaurant specializing in Taiwanese noodles.  We are located in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago.  We strive to create a work environment that is based on open communication and mutual respect that is welcoming to people of all races, abilities, and people in the LGBTQIA+ community. 

This position is full time.  Must have weekend availability (Fri-Sun).

Responsibilities: 

Must learn and know the small focused menu well for purposes of introducing a potentially unfamiliar cuisine and  awareness of allergies and food restrictions.  We are looking for responsible applicants who are friendly and willing to learn about Taiwanese cuisine.  We hope to share Taiwan’s warm hospitality with our guests.

Work in a team-oriented, guest-centric environment to deliver a welcoming dining experience by:

• Managing waitlist, seating customers, taking orders, serving food, light food prep, and making bar drinks. 
• Ensuring the dining room, bar, patio area and bathrooms are clean, stocked and visually appealing. 
• Set up, cleaning, and resetting tables to ensure they are ready for the next guest. 
• Operating POS system.
• Be able to stand for at least 8 hours. 
• Follow and maintain safety protocols.  

Bonus but not required: waiting experience, bartending experience, interest in Taiwanese/Chinese cuisine, knowledge in Mandarin or Taiwanese languages.

• Must look neat and clean for food service.
• Must be organized and punctual.
• Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast paced and high energy environment.
• Strong time management skills, and a sense of urgency when approaching deadlines.
• Passion for food and beverage, strong work ethic and dedication.
• Able to take constructive criticism, learn quickly, and constantly improve. 

Physical Demands:

The physical demands for this position are being able to walk up and down stairs, seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.

Compensation: 

Hourly pay of $15/hr + Tip (pooled)
