About this position

About LaRocque Law

LaRocque Law is a Chicago family law firm handling divorce, allocation of parental responsibilities, parenting time, child support, maintenance, property division, premarital and postnuptial agreements, and post-decree matters in Cook, DuPage, and Will Counties. We take a disciplined, strategy-driven approach to every case, including high-conflict and complex matters, and we focus on moving cases forward rather than letting them stall. Our attorneys are expected to think ahead, communicate candidly with clients, and protect clients' long-term interests.

The Role

You will manage your own caseload of divorce, parentage, and related family law matters from intake through resolution, and support firm matters as needed. Day to day, that means advising clients, drafting pleadings and motions, preparing and responding to discovery, appearing in court for status, motion practice, hearings, and trials, taking and defending depositions, and working with colleagues on case strategy. You will be responsible for consistent client communication, organized case files, accurate timekeeping, and working within firm systems and procedures. The position is primarily remote, with in-person court appearances and client meetings in the Chicago area as required.

What We're Looking For

Active Illinois law license in good standing. Substantive family law experience, including divorce, allocation of parental responsibilities, support, maintenance, and property division. Experience drafting and arguing motions, including temporary relief and discovery motions. Experience planning, taking, and defending depositions. Strong writing and oral advocacy skills, with close attention to detail and deadlines. Ability to manage multiple cases independently, work efficiently with case management and video-conferencing tools, and communicate clearly with clients. Experience with high-conflict or complex family law matters and familiarity with Cook, DuPage, and Will County courts is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

$90,000-$160,000 plus health insurance and quarterly bonuses. Compensation depends on experience.
