Upside Pizza is a fast-growing New York pizza brand focused on high-quality ingredients, operational excellence, and an energetic, hospitality-driven culture. Softside is our seasonal concept—ice cream in the summer and Soupside in the winter—built with the same attention to detail and brand creativity.

We’re building something that feels both classic and fresh, and we’re looking for someone who can help us scale while maintaining that energy.

The Role

We’re hiring an Operations Manager to support day-to-day operations across Upside Pizza and Softside locations. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, leads by example, and helps keep standards high as we grow.

Responsibilities

Team & Hiring

• Communicate and build strong relationships with managers and staff
• Support hiring and recruiting
• Help develop strong, accountable teams

Operations & Systems

• Oversee operations across all locations, ensuring consistency in product, service, and experience
• Build, update, and enforce SOPs across both brands
• Develop opening packages for new stores (checklists, cash management, templates)
• Partner on facilities oversight and building condition

Financial Performance

• Review weekly P&L and help improve store-level profitability
• Monitor & optimize labor, food cost, and overall efficiency across locations

Marketing, Retention & Digital

• Support email marketing strategy including list growth and campaigns
• Help build systems for guest retention and engagement
• Implement tools to capture guest feedback and convert it into repeat business
• Evaluate platforms for reviews and reputation management

Brand & Creative

• Support digital presence (website, YouTube, content, etc.)
• Assist with brand storytelling and creative partnerships
• Oversee in-store signage and merchandising consistency
• Help build internal guides and brand materials

Partnerships & Growth

• Support partnerships and collaboration efforts
• Maintain organized partner and vendor databases

Sales & Outreach

• Help build outbound sales systems (catering, Slice, outreach)
• Support CRM-style follow-up systems (DM/email)
• Assist with community outreach

Qualifications

• 3+ years in restaurant or multi-unit operations
• Strong understanding of NYC DOH standards and food safety regulations 
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and solve problems quickly
• Comfortable being both hands-on in stores and organized behind the scenes
• Experience with systems or scaling operations is a plus
• NYC experience preferred
