You will manage the entire operational lifecycle—from quoting and scheduling to programming and quality control—ensuring optimal efficiency, profitability, and on-time delivery for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations & Workflow Management: Oversee entire shop floor operations, optimizing machine capacity, material flow, and job scheduling for our team.
  • Quoting & Job Costing: Analyze customer prints to estimate material, tooling, and labor costs, ensuring profitable and competitive pricing.
  • Manufacturing Engineering: Lead process planning, design fixtures, optimize tooling choices, and leverage engineering principles to reduce cycle times and setup bottlenecks.
  • Programming & Tech Support: Utilize Solidworks, FeatureCam, and Hurco Conversational to program complex jobs and solve technical shop floor issues.
  • Supply Chain & Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with material suppliers, tooling vendors, and outside service providers (e.g., heat treating, plating).
  • Quality & CMM Oversight: Maintain tight-tolerance quality standards and oversee part inspection processes using the Zeiss Contura CMM.
  • KPI Tracking: Monitor and report on key shop metrics such as on-time delivery, machine utilization, scrap rates, and overall job profitability.

Technical & Machine Requirements

  • CAD/CAM Software: Advanced proficiency in Solidworks, FeatureCam, and Hurco Conversational programming.
  • CNC Equipment: Experience with Hurco Mills, Samsung Lathes, and Fortune V-Centers.
  • Manual & Toolroom Machines: Competency with Clausing 2-Axis Accurite, K-3 Vertical Mills with Prototrak, Sharp Manual Lathes, and Surface Grinders.
  • Quality Equipment: Familiarity with Zeiss Contura CMM and high-precision inspection techniques.
  • Print Reading: Expert knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

Experience and Qualifications

  • Operations Leadership: 3+ years of experience in operations management, production control, or plant management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Engineering Background: Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent heavy technical trade experience.
  • Machining Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on setup, operating, and programming experience across CNC and manual equipment.
  • Industry Experience: Background manufacturing parts for aerospace, automotive, commercial food service, or industrial equipment sectors.
  • Small-Shop Acumen: Proven ability to wear multiple hats and manage both the administrative and physical demands of a high-mix, low-volume job shop.
