Job Description

Grinds, polishes and finishes stainless steel and aluminum parts and finished assemblies to a high-quality standard in preparation for delivery to the end users.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Finish or polish stainless steel and aluminum parts using a variety of stationary and portable grinders, files, buffing wheels and sanders.
  • Perform final assembly operations including wheel/caster or adjustable feet installation.
  • Labeling or product identification and final cleaning in preparation for shipment to customers.
  • Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards
  • Assemble items as instructed by department supervisor
  • Keep work area clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
  • Follow all company rules and policies
  • Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
  • Follow all safety rules and quality standards
  • Work with you department team to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Uphold all OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above
  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to listen, read, write and communicate effectively
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend and kneel and squat frequently.
  • Able to move and/or lift materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds independently.
  • Wear appropriate PPE including safety glasses, face shields, gloves, hardhat, dust masks etc.
  • Repetitive use of hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation.
  • Must have basic mathematical skills
  • Experience working with basic power and hand tools such as die grinders, angle grinders, file, hammer.
  • Must be able to produce consistent quality in accordance with company standards.
  • Ability to follow instruction given both verbally and in written form
  • Able to work independently while maintain communications with the department lead and co-workers.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals and procedure manual.
  • Must be reliable

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and communicate effectively in person and by phone.
  • Regular use of hands and arms for handling, reaching, and lifting.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Comfortable working in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including eye protection and protective clothing.
