About the Role

The Company is seeking a VP, Head of Search & Evaluation to join its late-stage clinical oncology team. The successful candidate will be a senior leader responsible for setting the strategy and leading the identification, assessment, and advancement of external innovation opportunities that align with the company's portfolio strategy and long-term growth objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of oncology drug development, precision medicine, and the biopharmaceutical development process. The VP will work closely with cross-functional leaders to maintain a robust pipeline of external opportunities, drive rigorous assessments, and shape strategic recommendations. They will also be accountable for building and leading a high-performing Search & Evaluation team, fostering a culture of scientific rigor, and ensuring that external innovation efforts are in line with corporate strategy and therapeutic area priorities. Candidates for this role should have an advanced scientific degree in a relevant life sciences discipline, with an MBA or other business training being a plus. A minimum of 15 years' experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, business development, or related fields is required, with a proven track record of leading the evaluation of external innovation opportunities. The ideal candidate will have experience in precision oncology or related therapeutic areas, and a strong network across the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and investment communities. Leadership competencies include enterprise-level scientific and strategic leadership, team building, and executive communication skills. The role demands a leader with exceptional organizational and strategic judgment, the ability to influence across matrixed organizations, and a commitment to the mission and values of the company.
