The Dental Hygienist provides preventive and periodontal care for general adult, pediatric, mixed-age, and periodontal patients. Working with one dentist, supporting multiple dentists, and leading a hygiene team, this role emphasizes preventive cleanings, periodontal therapy, pediatric care, and expanded-function procedures.
Responsibilities
- Screen patients and assess periodontal health.
- Perform dental cleanings, plaque removal, and preventive prophylaxis.
- Provide periodontal therapy and periodontal charting.
- Administer fluoride treatments and applications.
- Perform dental radiography and support expanded-function procedures.
- Deliver oral health education to adult and pediatric patients.
- Document treatment accurately.
- Maintain infection control standards and sterilize instruments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in dental hygiene.
- Associate degree in Dental Hygiene.
- Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license.
- State dental hygiene license.
- Experience with dental prophylaxis, periodontal charting, dental radiography, ultrasonic scaling, fluoride application, and infection control.
