Job Description – General Labor (One-Day Community Cleanup Event)

Job Summary
We are seeking dependable and hardworking individuals to assist with a one-day community cleanup event. Employees will be responsible for helping community members unload miscellaneous household items and unwanted materials from their vehicles and disposing of them into designated trash bins or dumpsters. This is a physically demanding, outdoor position that requires lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist community members with unloading miscellaneous items from cars, trucks, and trailers.
- Lift, carry, and dispose of items into designated trash bins or dumpsters.
- Help organize and maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and event coordinators.
- Work as a team to ensure vehicles are unloaded safely and efficiently.
- Follow all safety guidelines and proper lifting procedures.
- Report any hazardous or prohibited materials to a supervisor.
Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (team lifting required for heavier items).
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat.
- Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well with others.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and ready to work.
- Previous general labor experience is preferred but not required.
Work Environment
This position involves working outdoors in a fast-paced environment. Employees may be exposed to dust, dirt, heat, and various household materials. Proper work attire and required personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn.
Assignment Duration: One day only.
