Job Title: Tooling Integration Program Manager

Employee Type: MSP

Expected Weekly Hours: 40

 

Position Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the client’s business unit(s) with program management responsibilities for custom tooling integration delivered by a measurement, technology, and solutions (MTS) team. The position will work directly with end customers (internal and/or external) and vendors to fulfill tooling needs.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement

o   Assist in developing tool concepts from which accurate vendor quotes & timelines are created

o   Co-develop project plans including tooling requirements, project deliverables, schedules, and process documentation (as required) for customer review & approval

o   Develop essential methods and processes (process flow diagrams, fluidic diagrams, etc.) required for tool builds including calibration strategies and standards for customers

o   Review opportunities and submit recommendations to upgrade and/or cost reduce tooling including notifications of upcoming end of life tooling

  • Vendor Engagement

o   Review competing vendor quotations, and provide approval/denial recommendations to customers & MTS team

o   Assess and communicate project status and issues in conjunction with tooling vendor to customer & MTS management

o   Monitor and direct vendor tool builds and review & approve tool acceptance plans

o   Respond to issues identified on delivered tools, and suggest or implement improvements as required

  • Technical Project Support

o   Act as point contact between MTS team and related vendors and project leads

o   Oversee and participate in tool design reviews

o   Maintain prioritized backlog of improvements and review in weekly team meetings

o   Manage tool acceptance activities, including tool delivery, initial start-up, and validation plans for tools to meet defined requirements

o   Ensure there is training documentation for customers (end-users) to operate, calibrate, and maintain the tool(s)

o   Act as a 3rd tier troubleshooter for released tooling including software issues in collaboration with tooling software development teams

  • Drive for continuous improvements
  • Perform other duties as needed

 

Education and Credential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Engineering Management, or related field
  • Eligible to work in the US without RLA sponsorship for employment visa status

 

Experience Requirements

  •  5-8+ years of experience in a program manager/technical project manager role
  • Worked on projects delivering custom electro-mechanical systems to customers
  • Developed project plans and processes for low volume (engineering builds) and/or high volume (mass production builds) manufacturing environments
  • Direct correspondence with customers and vendors, developing and maintaining relationships while managing changes in requirements vs expectations
  • Worked on cross functional teams consisting of hardware/software/manufacturing engineers, and procurement & supply chain experts
  • Managing customer facing documentation
  • Use of Agile project and program management methodologies


Preferred experience

  • Worked on custom test and measurement hardware systems
  • Worked on tooling used for Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) R&D
  • Used Quality Systems, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), and basic statistical data analysis on tooling design and process development and improvements

               

Skills Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently
  • High proficiency using productivity software such as M365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams and SharePoint)
  • Ability to use agile/scrum project/program management principles and methodologies to consistently meet task deadlines, triage changing priorities, and track issues to resolution
  • Ability to collaborate across diverse teams with a customer service mindset

 

Work Environment

  • The position typically operates in a standard office environment and/or from employee’s home
  • Be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
